Which automotive paint has the largest metal flake silver (metallic)?

I want to match the original gelcoat – large flake silver metallic – on a 1972 Ducati 450 Desmo. This motorcycle had what looked like some of the fiberglass power boat finishes that were popular at the time. It was called the Silver Shotgun by some. I would like to use a urethane base automotive finish rather than the original polyester gelcoat. Thanks!

PPG and House of Kolor have some of the best finishes out there. The best way to select the right paint is to stop by a local body shop and ask to look at their paint sample books and tell them what you looking for. I’m sure you will find something that looks close to the old ShotGun. Or you might even find something you like better! –Good Luck!
