Hey guys, just bought an 05 ninja 500, I seem to have no problem shifting up, but im not sure how to downshift on it. do i just come to a complete stop and click it down to first? or is it better to downshift through each gear? Im looking for an answer on what speeds/rpm i should be at for upshifting and downshifting through each gear. Please help me out guys, i dont want to ruin my first bike.

My 1981 Yamaha XS 1100 SH stalls while I coast to a stop. I’ll be coming to a stoplight, squeeze the clutch lever, roll off the throttle, and begin braking. By the time I’m stopped my engine has shut off. It also doesn’t like to idle. It sits at about 500 rpm and seems unhappy. What might be causing this?

I just bought a 2007 Yamaha R-6. I have put almost 800 miles on it already. How many miles do i need for a good break in so i can start to get into higher RPM’s where the powers at?

what does it mean when your muffler on your motorcycle makes weird noises and the bike doesnt accelerate normaL AND WHEN IT JUST SITS THERE AND IDLES THE RPM’S ARE REALLY LOW and that i have to give it throttle when i start it or it shuts off because the rp’s are to low…. i tried turning the idle thing up but it only goes up to 2000…

I own a 2005 kawasaki ninja 636. It has a 14k redline, I was wondering if any one out there may have a similar sports bike and could offer some suggestions on between what rpms i should up shift and down shift. Ive heard that higher rpms are safe for sportbikes cause they’re meant to be ran up there pretty high on the gauge. What about riding on the freeway. Is it safe to cruise at 8k or 9k rpm also. thanks

Im new to motorcyle riding and wanted to know how to match engine speed to road speed on my motorcycle. I cant find any info on between what rpm’s I need to switch gears for my upshift and downshifting. My bike is used and I dont have the owners manual to go by.

ive just completed a project bike. 1995 yzf600r. when the rpms get up the the real power, it basically just maintains and the powerband doesnt kick in. i feel like its flooding out, but i dont have problems with it at any other rpm, just at maximum power. it may be the clutch, i havent given it an oil change yet either.
i can feel it flood out or something, almost like its sputtering
